Fort Lauderdale Tourist Information and Cruise Port Guide
The picturesque river that flows through the center of Fort Lauderdale is called the New River.
The river originates in the Florida Everglades which are located west of the city. It then meanders through Fort Lauderdale and eventually flows into the Atlantic Ocean near Port Everglades.
Stranahan House, the oldest building in the city, is located right on the New River.
Visitors to Fort Lauderdale can enjoy a journey on the Jungle Queen Riverboat along this picturesque river. Water taxis also operate on this waterway.
