Most visitors to Fort Lauderdale arrive at Fort Lauderdale Airport (FLL) and many of them rent a vehicle on arrival.

There is a huge car rental area in FLL airport.  All major car rental agencies are represented.

Many car rental companies provide a free shuttle service to Port Everglades for cruise passengers. Otherwise, a cab to the cruise port will put you back around $10.

Some car rental agencies allow customers to drive vehicles between Miami Airport and Fort Lauderdale Airport and not charge a drop-off fee.

Parking in Fort Lauderdale, unfortunately, can be expensive.  Many hotels in the city charge a daily parking fee.  There is also limited parking at Fort Lauderdale Beach.
